Joyce Roper

Joyce Ann Roper, age 71, died on Sunday, October 14, 2012 at her home in Conroe. She was born on December 9, 1940 in Center, TX to Bill and Eara Thompson. A devoted housewife, mother and memaw, she was a strong, independent woman who took pride in her family and friends. She retired from Kroger, Inc. in 2002 after 18 years of service. In her free time, she was an avid bowler and loved to dance. She was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her husband, Frank Roper; sons, John Roper of Spring and Steven Roper of Houston; grandchildren, Krystin Roper of College Station, Travis Roper of Spring, Rilya Roper of Lafayette, IN and Maddi and Jeremy Morrow of Belpre, OH; brothers, Waylon and Allen Thompson; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 6 pm until 8 pm on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at Eickenhorst Funeral Services, 1712 N. Frazier at Wilson, Suite 115, Conroe, TX 77301. A graveside service and interment will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, October 18, 2012 in Earthman Resthaven Cemetery, 13102 North Freeway, Houston, TX 77060.
