Josephine Catanese, 89, a native of Brooklyn and long-time resident of Staten Island, NY, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2024, in Houston, TX. Known for her unique personality and deep love for family, Josephine was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Salvatore Catanese, Josephine is survived by her children, Paul Segreto and wife Laureen Segreto, Richard Catanese and wife Nan Simon-Catanese, and Ralph Catanese and wife Trish Le. She also leaves behind her brothers, Pat Mangraviti and Joseph Mangraviti, and eight treasured grandchildren, Paul Segreto Jr., Kristen Segreto, Bradley Segreto, Jennifer Lawson, Christopher Catanese, Corey Catanese, Rae Anna Conforti, and Helen Catanese; and five great-grandchildren, Michael, Elizabeth (Ellie), and Walker Lawson, and Matthew and Emily Segreto; all carrying forward her legacy.
Josephine dedicated many years to the New York City Police Department as an administrative assistant at Staten Island's 122nd Precinct, serving with pride until her retirement.

Josephine will be laid to rest at St. John’s Cemetery in Queens, NY, reunited with her husband, Salvatore. Her spirit and love will be deeply missed and forever cherished by family and friends.
