Joseph "Joey" Herschel Staton

Joseph Herschel Staton was born on October 19, 1974 to Sue Ellen Staton and Barry Kieth Staton. He is survived by his brother, John Kieth Staton and his sister, Sara Le Ann Staton. Joey was 39 years old at the time of his passing. In those 39 years, he taught those that knew and loved him compassion, patience, and unconditional love. Joey never met a stranger, talking to anyone whether they were listening or not. He did not ask for much, but those simple things he asked for, he made sure he was never without - pads to write on, pens to write with, a working radio to listen to his "Love Songs", a watch, dandruff shampoo, his CD's, watching Wheel of Fortune, and a bottle of Coke. These may seem like small things - things that most people would just give him to keep him happy - but these small things are what will make us think of Joey fondly, when we are least expecting it. These small things - ignored by others - will bring a smile to our faces, a memory to our thoughts, and a warming to our hearts. This is the power that Joey has on our lives. We love you, Joey. We will miss you. We will see you again and we will rejoice!
