Montgomery

Joseph Stephen “Joe” Baker, 48, passed away on December 15, 2025, in Montgomery, Texas. Born on February 14, 1977 in Lawton, Oklahoma. Joe brought joy and laughter to those around him from the very beginning.

Joe grew up in Conroe Texas and graduated from Conroe High School in 1995. With a passion for mechanics and machinery, he pursued further education at the School of Automotive Machinery. There, he honed the skills that would shape his professional life. His dedication and talent led him to co-found J2 Precision Machine—a business he proudly operated until an injury forced him into medical retirement at the age of 45. Joe’s work ethic was unmatched; he began working at just 14 years old and carried that drive throughout his life.

Known for his infectious smile and booming laugh, Joe was truly the life of every party. He had a gift for storytelling—his tales could light up a room and leave everyone in stitches. Joe was at his best when he was with family or friends, enjoying the connection and good company. He cherished time spent with loved ones and made every gathering memorable with his humor and warmth.

Joe’s passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of many. He is lovingly remembered by his long-time love and the mother of his children, Shannon Haggard, daughter, Jenna Baker; son, Tristan Haggard (and fiance Kaitlyn); and granddaughter, Willow Haggard. He also leaves behind his mother, Jeanne Hester; sister, Denise Dennis (and fiance Robert Mann); brothers Leslie Blalock (and wife Jennifer) and Robert Blalock; sister Catherine Nelms (and husband Chris); nieces Brenna Taylor (and husband J.T.), Brooke Blalock, and Hollee Blalock; nephews John Acree (and wife Sha), Bo Blalock (and wife Amy), Brayton Blalock (and wife Riley), Justin Blalock, and David Baker, Clark “Corky” Dennis (and wife Emily); as well as numerous great-nieces and nephews. Joe also held deep affection for his many aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother Lyda Lee O'Daniel; grandfather Fred Gray; nephew Joshua Chase Hensley; great-nephew Nathan Dennis and brother-in-law Clark “Corky” Dennis.

Though Joe’s final months were marked by illness and pain, those who loved him find comfort in knowing that as a young boy sitting in the front pew of Northside Baptist Church in Conroe, Texas, he professed his faith in Christ and followed Him in baptism. Because he believed in his heart and confessed with his mouth that Jesus is Lord, there is hope that one day they will be reunited with him.

Joe's legacy lives on through the laughter he inspired, the stories he told so well, and the love he gave so freely. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
