John E. Jones

John E. Jones, age 68, died following a brief illness on May 21, 2014. He was born in Houston on May 5, 1946 and grew up in Crocket, Texas. At the age of 17, he married Virginia L. Jones, who was 15 at the time, and they have been married for 49 years. He proudly served his country in the US Army. He was most recently a parts runner for Conroe Pipe. John was preceded in death by his parents, Auther and Dorothy Patton Jones and he is survived by his loving wife, Virginia; children, Jonathan Jones and wife Terry, Christine Jones Saunders and husband Steven and Allen Jones and wife Laura; grandchildren, Dustin and Cody Volarik and Kenneth, Tiffany and Dresden Jones; and his sister, Dorothy Warren. Friends are invited to visit with the family beginning at 1 pm on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at New Bethlehem Baptist Church, 14630 Millmac Road, Conroe, Texas 77303. A funeral service will follow at 2 pm at the church. John will be buried next to the church in the New Bethlehem Cemetery.
