Joe Earl Brown, 85, passed away on May 4, 2024. He was born in Diboll, Texas on May 7, 1939 to parents, Earl and Wilma Brown.
Joe was a happy child who loved to go to school, he enjoyed playing outside with his neighborhood friends. He also loved to go on trips to visit family. He went to several different elementary schools growing up due to moving frequently. He graduated from Galena Park Highschool and then went to Sam Houston State university for 1 year.
Joe worked as a carpenter for 2 years. He joined the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers as an apprentice, and then worked at the IBEW Local Union 716. He served as an Executive Board member and was very active in local politics. After 33 years of dedication and hard work, Joe retired in 2001. He was very proud to be a member of IBEW 716.
He was very active in helping and coaching all of his kids in youth sports while in Pasadena, Texas. In later life, Joe enjoyed working outside in his garden and he enjoyed tending to his cows on the farm.
He is preceded in death by his father Earl Thomas Brown; mother, Wilma Coker Brown; brothers, Billy Brown and H.A. Brown; and his sister Jeanie Brown Lucas.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Carolyn Shelby Brown; sons, Eddie Brown and James Brown (Mindy); and daughter, Shari Brown Low (Gary); grandchildren, Eddy Brown Jr., Megan Low, Jacob Brown, Andrew Low, Luke Brown and Grace Brown; great-grandchildren, Scarlett Low and Jamie Low; along with his sister, Patsy Brown Gibbs.
