February 4, 1924 — March 29, 2012

Jean (Nanny) Novak, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother went to be with her Heavenly Father on March 29, 2012 at the age of 88. Nanny was born on February 4, 1924 in Dothan, Alabama. After graduating from Dothan High School, she met the love of her life, James Novak, at Bainbridge Army Base and they married on December 1, 1945 . They had two daughters, Tanya and Nina. Nanny lived in Georgia until 1979 when her husband passed away. She moved to Conroe, Texas to be closer to family. In Conroe, Nanny worked in the Children's Ministry at First Baptist Church Conroe taking care of the nursery children. Her love for children led to many years of caring for children in her home. Her sweet, loving spirit and witty humor will be missed by many.Jean was preceded in death by her husband, James Novak. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Jim and Nina Gentry, daughter, Tanya Culbertson; grandchildren, Amy and Joel McGee, Kim and Chad Stevenson, Scott and Rachel Gentry and Angela and Ricky Matthew; and great-grandchildren, Landon and Grayson McGee, Chandler and Braeden Stevenson, and Gentry and Jake Matthew. The family would like to say thank you to Reba for her care and kindness. "Mrs. Jean" considered her a special friend.
