Jean Lois Hansen

March 9, 1934 — August 16, 2023

Jean Lois Hansen, 89, passed away on August 16, 2023 at her home in The Woodlands, Texas. She was born in Manitowoc, Wisconsin to parents Betty and Walter Paulson. After graduating from high school in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, she became a certified Medical Technologist and X Ray Technologist and worked in hospitals in Wisconsin and California. She married and later moved to California in 1959. She became certified as a Medical Transcriptionist and worked in and supervised medical records transcription departments in Camarillo, California and Lake Havasu City, Arizona. She spent the majority of her life in Camarillo, California and raised her three sons there. In 1992, she divorced and moved to Lake Havasu City where she enjoyed playing golf, the beautiful desert around the lake, and spending time with sister Marian and her husband Merle. In 2005, she moved to The Woodlands to be closer to her sons and enjoyed bible study, eventually becoming a Stephen ministry leader. She was also a long time member of the International Bible Study Fellowship organization.

Jean is survived by her three sons and their spouses; Scott and Heather Hansen, Brian and Robin Hansen, and Jim and Louise Hansen, all of The Woodlands. She is also survived by four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Walter Paulson, brother, William Paulson, and sister, Marian Zentner.

Jean was a woman of many talents. As a young adult, she was an avid roller skater and roller dancer. While living in Lake Havasu, the grand-kids challenged her to go rollerblading and she showed them how it was done! Jean enjoyed all kinds of crafting and over many years became quite proficient at painting, sculpting, stained glass, quilting, sewing, artistic wood burning, and ceramics. She was a regular attendee of the morning water aerobics group at the local clubhouse as well as regularly playing Bridge and Mahjong with her friends. She enjoyed staying current with the news and it was not uncommon for her to regularly debate the current political situation with her children.
