James Robert Ferris

James (Jim) Robert Ferris, 72, of Spring, Texas passed away peacefully following a tough, long, battle from health issues at 8:30pm on October 4, 2018 with his lifelong partner at his side.

Born on September 26, 1946 in Oconto, WI to George and Sylvia Ferris, Jim was a retired retail collectibles and gift shops owner. He owned and operated several stores in and around the Green Bay, Wisconsin area. Jim was an active hobbyist, hand creating a variety of decorative art work for family, friends and for resale.

Jim is survived by his sister, Beverly Thomas of Venice, FL; former wife Pat Ferris of Green Bay, WI; his life long partner Robert Barker of Spring, TX; David Green his life-long and closest friend of Burleson, TX; his beloved white Labrador, Golden Boy; and, many family and friends. Jim never met a stranger and served as an excellent mentor to friends he met across the nation. He always went the distance to help a friend and served as the perfect host to any and all visitors to his home.

While he may have passed from the face of the earth, he is in a better place now and no longer suffering. While we dearly miss him and his quick wit and humor, Jim will never be forgotten by those who knew him.
