James Alton Chatham

James Alton Chatham, age 73, passed away on May 26, 2014 in Conroe. He was born on April 15, 1941 in Oakwood, Texas before moving to Conroe, where he spent most of his life. James married the love of his life, Patricia Ann Lingenfelter, and they spent 51 years together. He proudly served his country in the US Navy and was a lifetime member of the Conroe VFW Post 4709, where he held many offices in the past. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Ethel Geneva Chatham, and his granddaughter, Jami Leann Chatham. He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Ann Chatham; children, James Eric Chatham and wife Twila and Avery Wayne Chatham and wife Laci; grandchildren, Amber Drake and husband Devon, James Eli, Christian Nathaniel and fiance Devin, Cyler Hammer and Jennifer Crowson; Great grandson, Parker Ryan Chatham; and siblings, Frank Wayne Chatham and wife Georgia, Joe Murral Chatham and wife Lecretia, Ronnie Dean Chatham and wife Maryette and David Lynn Chatham. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 6 pm until 8 pm on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at Eickenhorst Funeral Services, 1712 N. Frazier at Wilson, Suite 115, Conroe, Texas 77301. A graveside service will be held at 1 pm on Thursday, May 29, 2014 in the North Creek Cemetery outside of Centerville, Texas.
