James Angell

James Odell Angell, age 89, passed away peacefully on April 26,
2025 in Montgomery County, Texas. He was born April 1, 1936 in
Cameron, Texas, child of Ida Pearl and Edward Angell. He is survived by
his loving wife of 40 years, June Angell; sister Leola Staupe; daughter
Sharon Angell Gresham and her husband, Michael; daughter-in-law Lisa
Ratliff, son-in-law Kenny Sefcik, stepdaughters Anita Metcalf, Cheryl
White and her husband Gary; grandchildren David Hoot, Melissa Hoot,
Christopher Hoot, Haley Gresham, Trace Gresham, Shelby White, Gary
White Jr and wife Rebecca, Kristel White Meadows and husband TJ,
Cody Metcalf, and Casey Metcalf; great grandchildren Selah Benignus,
Reese White, Landry Meadows, Bode Meadows, Macklin Meadows,
Addison White, Olivia White, Carsyn Metcalf, and Cohen Metcalf.
James graduated from Yoe Highschool in Cameron, Texas in 1955.
While in Highschool he was an avid tennis player. He was drafted into
the US Army in 1958 in Fort Hamilton, NY then later stationed in
Homberg, Germany. After leaving the Military he worked various jobs
until he was hired on at the Cullen Building as a Stationary Engineer. He
later went to work for Memorial Hospital Systems until he retired.
James and June were married in 1985. James loved to fish and enjoyed
rebuilding cars.
James was preceded in death by his mother Ida Pearl and father Edward Lee Angell, sister Dora Smith, brother E.L. Angell, daughters Sandra Angell Sefcik and Patricia Angell, and granddaughter Crystal Lynn
Cooper.
