Jack Harold Hill, Jr.

Aug 27, 2026 — Jun 27, 2026

Jack Harold Hill Jr., 77, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on June 27, 2026, surrounded by his loving family at home. He was born on August 27, 1948, in Erie, Pennsylvania, to Jack Harold Hill Sr. and Helen Gossman.

Jack spent much of his childhood in St. Louis, where he grew up alongside his sisters, Barb and Judy, and his brothers, David and Jeff.

A proud patriot, Jack honorably served his country in the United States Army from January 1968 through December 1969, including service during the Vietnam War.

Following his military service, he worked for Chrysler until his retirement in 1989. He later continued his career with Synergistics and Caterpillar, where he remained until his retirement in April 2015.

On October 26, 1990, Jack married the love of his life, Betsy Lynn Hill. Their marriage was built on love, faith, and unwavering devotion. Betsy lovingly cared for Jack at home throughout his illness until the Lord called him home.

Jack was a devoted Christian and a faithful member of Cornerstone Church. His relationship with God was the foundation of his life. He found great joy in studying the Bible and sharing God's Word with others. He especially cherished teaching his daughter, Holly, and his daughter-in-law, Ashley, about Scripture, answering their questions, and encouraging them to grow in their faith. Holly fondly remembers that Jack's love of movies and music became her own. They were close during her childhood, and although they occasionally argued- especially over whose turn it was to wash the dishes -she always knew she was deeply loved. Through every season of life, Jack's love, guidance, and unwavering support never changed. His greatest desire was for those he loved to know the Lord as he did.

Jack treasured time with his family. He loved building and fixing things alongside his son, Josh. Whether it was tackling a new project, solving a problem, or simply working with their hands together, those moments were among his greatest joys. He also cherished spending time with his grandchildren, creating memories that will be treasured forever.

His granddaughter, Avery, fondly remembers sitting on Papa's lap playing FreeCell while his record player filled the room with music. His grandson, Samuel, will always remember helping Papa build projects around the house and the many things Papa patiently taught him along the way. Jack also enjoyed listening to music, caring for animals, and having meaningful conversations and late-night phone calls with his best friend and son-in-law, Sean.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Betsy Lynn Hill; his daughter, Holly Lowrie (Sean); his son, Joshua Malouf (Ashley); his cherished grandchildren, Avery Lowrie and Samuel Lowrie; his sister, Judy; his brothers, David and Jeff; and his beloved cousin, Leonard.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Harold Hill Sr. and Helen Gossman, and his sister, Barb.
While Jack's family grieves his absence, they rejoice in the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ. They find comfort in knowing that he is now healed, at peace, and home with the Lord he faithfully loved and served. His legacy of faith, kindness, wisdom, and unconditional love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
