Hugh Thomas Grimes 83, of Conroe, Texas, passed away on December 22, 2023. Born on October 25, 1940, in Providence, RI. Hugh is survived by his Ex-Wife Susanna Grimes. He will be deeply missed by his surviving brother, John J. Grimes, and his sisters, Mary and Richard Salerno, Helen Davis and partner Lynette Birkins and Margaret Demarais. Hugh also leaves behind several nephews, nieces, great nephews, and great nieces, whom he loved dearly.
Hugh was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh T. and Helen R. (Maguire) Grimes.
After completing his higher education and earning an Associate Degree, Hugh proudly served his country as a First Lieutenant in the US Army for three years in Korea. His dedication and commitment to his military service were commendable.
Following his military service, Hugh pursued a career in food service sales where he was Marketing Representative for the Marriott corporation. He excelled in his profession and made a significant impact in the industry.
Outside of work, Hugh had a passion for golf and animal rescue services. He enjoyed spending his leisure time on the golf course and lending a helping hand to animals in need. Hugh had a way of making strangers his friends, and he uniquely continued to grow those friendships and will be deeply missed by many.
The funeral arrangements are being handled by Eickenhorst Funeral Home in Conroe, Texas. The family finds comfort in the support and assistance provided by the compassionate staff at the funeral home during this difficult time.
A remembrance commemorating Hugh's death will be held at one of his favorite places The 19th hole (202 Sawdust road #118) on January 14th, 2-7pm. Friends and family are invited to gather and pay their respects and share stories in remembrance of a remarkable individual who touched the lives of many.
