Herbert Daniel Mills Sr

Herbert Daniel Mills Sr, age 67, passed away at his home in Willis, Texas on December 14, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 13, 1950 in Pontiac, Michigan to Albert and Marilynn Mills. Herbert was the oldest of six children and grew up in Pontiac. He got an education in business management and business law and also served in the U.S. Army as an Airborne Ranger. Herbert married Brenda Mills and had one child, Herbert Daniel Mills Jr. In his professional career, he was a business owner/loan officer at the Loan Depot in Southeast Texas. In Detroit, Michigan, he was a Teamster and was a member of the American Legion Post 418 in Willis, Texas. He attended Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas. Since he had five siblings, he became known as “Uncle Herb” or “Mr. Mac.”
Herbert is preceded in death by his parents Albert and Marilynn Mills; brother Buddy James Mills and sister Deborah Upton. He is survived by his son Herbert Daniel Mills Jr; grandchildren Herbert Daniel Mills III and Austin Joseph Mills; siblings Roger Mills, Linda Ort, and Roxanne Martin, and special daughter-in-law Shawna Mills.
