Obituary

Gordon Griffiths passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 17, 2026. He was born in 1933 on a farm near Saskatoon, Saskatchewan to Welsh and Irish immigrants William G. Griffiths and Esther M. Byers.

Gordon and his wife immigrated to the US in 1959 with their first child. In 2010, they became Naturalized Citizens of the US.

His family will remember him as a quiet man, and when he spoke everyone listened, because you knew it was important. He had a wonderful dry sense of humor that would catch people by surprise. He was our rock. He worked tirelessly his entire life and past retirement, well into his 80’s. Along with his lifelong contribution as a leader in the pipeline and energy services sector, he had a deep passion for cars, genealogy, and preserving his father’s artwork. He loved his family deeply as they loved him.

Gordon was preceded in death by brothers David Newton, William Ivander and Valentine Roy Griffiths.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Edith J. Griffiths, as well as his children, Gwen [Paul], Lisa, and Gordon [Jacqueline], grandchildren Jamey [William], Logan, Tori, great-grandchildren William and Luke, and many other loving relatives.

Private family services will be held at Eickenhorst Funeral Services, 12412 FM 2854 Rd, Conroe, TX, Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at 2 p.m.
