Gloria Bernice Parr

Gloria Bernice Sullins Parr passed away on February 7, 2017. She was born on December 29,
1926 in Fayetteville, Arkansas to Jessie Allen Sullins and Edna Jessie Pearl Sullins. When asked
how they decided on the name of Gloria, her dad responded, "It was some fool name Pearl saw in a book." Gloria always laughed when she told that story. She left Arkansas for California with her mom and brother when she was 8 years old. They settled in La Habra, California where she lived until 1953.
When Gloria was in high school, her brother Logan introduced her to his good friend, Robert Parr, who she married a few years later. She was a devoted wife and mother and good friend and role model to many. Gloria was preceded in death by her husband and by her son, Alan. She is survived by her son, Larry, who lives in Conroe, Texas and her daughter, Beth Powers, who lives in The Woodlands Texas with her husband Robert. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Phillip and Lara Abdallah and Johnathan, Julia, and Jimmy Powers.
