It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of Gladys “Jeanne” I. Marker-Longwell. She passed away peacefully on November 26, 2024 in The Woodlands, Texas at the age of 77 surrounded by her loved ones, family, and friends.
Born on October 10, 1947 in Lewistown, Pennsylvania, Jeanne was the beloved daughter of Gladys I. Marker and Irvin O. Marker. Growing up in Rochester, New York Jeanne enjoyed her hobbies of wood crafting, "til" painting and yard work.
She was preceded in death by her son, George J. Alessi III; her parents, Gladys and Irvin Marker; and her brother, David I. Marker.
Jeanne is survived by her loving companion, Joseph Sweeney; devoted daughter, Kris Bienvenu, and son-in-law, Brian; brother, Don Marker, and sister-in-law, Karol.
She leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Cameron Bienvenu and wife Alicia,
Collin Bienvenu and fiance Ruby, and Justin Bienvenu and wife Brittany. Jeanne was also blessed by great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and a wide circle of close friends and family.
Jeanne was as social as she was kind, with countless instances of chatting up strangers in the grocery store for no other reason than good conversation. Jeanne or “Nane-E” enjoyed spending time with and spoiling her grandchildren, and going to any length for the opportunity to see all three boys smile.
Later in life, Jeanne dedicated herself to caregiving, providing unwavering support to her mother, Gladys, and her brother, David. Her selflessness and compassion were evident in every aspect of her life. Any and all who had the opportunity to meet Jeanne would surely never forget her. Her firecracker attitude and quick wit always broke the ice and added hilarity to any family gathering or public outing.
Jeanne truly leaves a legacy of love, creativity, and showing kindness to all regardless of circumstance. Her remembrance reminds us all to stop and enjoy the little things in life, and above all, laugh a little more. Jeanne’s memory will be forever cherished by those whose lives she touched.
