Gary Raymond Gwinn

August 10, 1942 — January 14, 2019

Gary Gwinn, 76, passed away Monday, January 14th 2019 at his home in Texas after a 20-year battle with Parkinson’s disease.

Born August 10, 1942 in Dayton, Washington to Merle and Betty (Glaspey) Gwinn, Gary graduated from Prosser High School class of 1960. He met the love of his life Susan (Mace) while attending the University of Puget Sound, in Tacoma, Washington; and they were married in June of 1964.

Gary and Susan called the Yakima Valley home for many years, and it is there they raised their 2 daughters Ann & Debbie. In 2018, Gary and Susan re-located to Willis, Texas to be closer to their grandchildren Hailey & Christopher.

Gary will be remembered for his unwavering faith in God, dedication to his family, his dry sense of humor and a love of apple pie. His favorite hymns included: In the Garden, and How Great Thou Art.

He is survived by his wife Susan; daughters, Ann (Tom) Kernan of Willis, TX and Deb (Matt) Frost of Mercer Island, WA; sister, MerryAnn Randall of Keizer, OR; as well as cousins, nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.

Private services were held in Texas.

Donations in his memory may be made to the Yakima Union Gospel Mission www.yugm.org , or the American Parkinson’s Disease Association www.apdaparkinson.org .
