Fred A. Jones

FRED A. JONES (authored by FAJ with love to his family) So many books yet to read, so many places yet to visit. Frederick (thanks to U. Armin) Allen (thanks to my grandfather) Jones - Fred was born Feb. 12, 1938 in Miami, OK to Albert Merle and Laura Hamilton Jones, was married in Norman, OK on Feb. 3, 1961 to Joan Powell, the love of his life and a most marvelous friend and companion. He died Jan. 8, 2011 after a 3 year tug of war with Multiple Myeloma cancer.Fred is survived by his lively, lovely, loving wife, Joan of The Woodlands, TX; 3�wonderful�children and 3 marvelous grandchildren - Michael Allen Jones, wife Yvonne Nutter Jones and their two children, Lauren Nicole and Ryan Michael, all of Mundelein, IL; Jennifer Ko Jones of Austin, TX; and Susan Elaine Lottimer, husband Clem Strudwick Lottimer and their son, Wade Hamilton Lottimer all of Blaine, WA; plus 3�siblings - Phyllis Coonts of Miami, Jerry Jones of Hot Springs, AR and Linda Womack of Republic, MO and their families.Fred graduated Jan. 1961 with a Chemical Engineering degree from the University of Oklahoma and had a fulfilling 40 plus year career in the oil and gas industry working with UOP, Cities Service/Occidental Petroleum/Trident NGL assets and later with the combined assets of Valero/PG&E/El Paso - certainly representing the merger trend. Traveling the world was very special for Fred and Joan, having visited all 50 states and over 75 countries.After cremation, a memorial service will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, January 15, 2011 in the chapel of Paul Thomas Funeral Home, 1432 B Street NW, Miami, OK 74354. Burial will follow in the GAR Cemetery in Miami, OK. Fred and his family want to give thanks to M. D. Anderson Cancer Center of Houston and especially to Donna Weber, MD and her caring and nurturing staff. Any memorials are requested to be given to the Coleman Theatre (Miami) or M. D.
