Ellen was born February 9, 1954, in Phoenix, Az. Ellen passed away at home with her husband Michael and her best friend Candy Brigance on August 2, 2023, at the age of 69, from complications of Frontal Temporal Dementia.
Ellen graduated from Aldine High School with her Cosmetology license in 1972 and married her high school sweetheart, Michael Ben Mitchell on July 29, 1972. She graduated with her LVN certificate from North Harris County Community College in 1977, working in various nursing capacities at Houston Northwest Hospital and various doctor’s offices until moving to Pueblo, Colorado in 1995, she then graduated from Pueblo Community College as a Registered Nurse
. As a RN she worked in hospice and ended her career as a registered Diabetes Educator. Ellen had a wonderful sense of humor and loved being with her family and friends. Having a winning personality and a wonderful sense of humor, Ellen’s impromptu ad libs kept those around her entertained. She loved a variety of music, singing and dancing to her favorite songs at home. She had various craft hobbies over the years including cooking, needlework, macrame, crocheting and beading.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ivy and George Chesney, her brother and his wife Larry and Pam Chesney.
Ellen leaves behind her husband of 51 years Michael Mitchell, her children Jill Flick (Brandon) and Nicholas Mitchell (Pam), her siblings Marianne Billings and George Chesney, Jr. (Sue), her grandchildren Luke Bohannon and Asher Mitchell, and her sister-in-law Patti Rowley (Geoff).
