Donald Charles Rooney

Donald Charles Rooney, 84, passed away peacefully in his home in Montgomery, Texas. He was born on November 23, 1941 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, to parents, Donald and Mary Rooney.

He was a teacher and a salesman. He loved having conversations with anyone who would listen. He raised Great Danes all his life, and leaves his most recent, Hiccup, behind. He also loved sports. He both played football and enjoyed it on TV anytime a game was on. His perfect day would be to get up, go sell his homemade honey, go to the store and spend 2 hours picking up a couple items just so he could talk to different people, go home and watch a Texan’s game on TV with Hiccup a plate of spaghetti, and a half gallon of ice cream.

Donald leaves behind sons, Donald Justin Rooney, Todd Andrew Rooney, Kevin Michael Rooney; grandchildren, Donnie, Forrest, Sydney, Kaelob, Brayden, Tesla, Ashley, Allyson, Katelyn, Amberly, Kimberly, Gregory, and Justin; and great grandchildren, Lauren, Liam, Lylah, Lilyana, Henry, and Weston.

He is preceded in death by both his parents and his loving wife, Kathleen Ruth Rooney of almost 41 years.

Graveside and burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, in Garden Park Cemetery, 801 Teas Rd, Conroe, TX 77303.
