Derella Hewitt

Derella Hewitt, 77, passed away on April 16, 2016. She is preceded in death by her parents Daniel and Mattie King, husband Barry Hewitt, and two sons, Michael and Wade Carter.

She was born on December 16, 1938 in Henderson, Texas, and moved to Tyler, Texas in 1951. She attended John Tyler High School. Derella had four children; two sons and two daughters. Derella was a member of Berean Bible Church in New Orleans, Louisiana until she moved to the Woodlands, Texas and became a member of Gateway Baptist Church. Derella is survived by daughter Leslie Carpenter, daughter Katherine Nolan and her husband John and daughter-in-law Lavon Carter; Grandchildren Mandy Barber and her husband Dan, Lauren Duval and her husband Robert, Sara Carpenter, Kimberley Bragg, Courtney Bragg, Barry Bragg Jr.; Great Grandchildren Eli and Hannah Barber and Raymond Duval.

The family requests that any memorials be made to Interfaith of The Woodlands. There will be a family and friend’s reception at Gateway Baptist Church 2930 Rayford Rd. Spring, TX 77386 from 2-4 pm, Tuesday April, 19 2016. Funeral Services will immediately follow at 4 pm.
