Derek Lowell, loving son, brother, uncle, and friend passed away on May 15, 2015 at the young age of 34. Derek was raised in Spring, Texas and was the youngest of two children. He graduated from Spring High School, went to Blinn College, and then continued on to Stephen F Austin State University. He was known for his big heart, quick wit, and of course, his amazing sense of humor. Derek lived courageously and had a strong intellect. Friends and family knew they could call him anytime to brighten their bad day, and would keep them on the line until he heard a laugh. Derek was sweet, sensitive, and made many life long friends. He loved watching great cinema, listening to music, making people laugh, and of course spending time with his beloved niece and mother. He is survived by his father, Scott (Gerel) Lowell, mother, Laurie (Robert) Williams, sister, Jessica (Gene) Labrada, niece, Lilly Labrada, aunt, Diane (Ramiz) Tafilaj, aunt Debra (Brett) Dalrymple, uncle Jeff (Heather) Lowell, uncle Bill (Jan) Lowell, uncle Doug (Laura) Lowell, aunt Vicki (Kevin) Norvell, aunt Suzanne Sherman, aunt Patti Sherman, uncle Scott Sherman, many cousins, the Williams family, and close friends who he cherished and loved dearly. Derek had this remarkable ability to bring joy to everyone. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all of the lives he touched.
