Dennis Allen White was a kind and gentle soul who lived a simple life with quiet dignity and grace. He passed away leaving behind a legacy of humility, loyalty, and an appreciation for the small things that made life meaningful.
Born in Lake City, South Carolina, Dennis was the son of Russell White and Lucille White. He was raised with strong family ties and carried those bonds with him throughout his life. He remained close to his childhood friends and valued lifelong connections and loyalty above all else.
Dennis was known for many things, including being second runner-up in an eighth-grade spelling bee, playing drums in his high school marching band, and later serving as a program director for a radio station. He also became well known for an impromptu appearance on a talk show where callers sought dating advice, and from those appearances went on to become the star of the YouTube show “The Ask Dennis Show.”
He had a remarkable memory for baseball and football statistics, often recalling exact dates and records with ease. Dennis loved listening to old songs on AM radio and embraced a simple way of living that helped him move through life with calm and perspective. He never desired fancy cars or expensive clothes; instead, he found contentment in a quiet routine, good music, and the comforts of everyday life. Wednesday nights were vegetable night, Saturdays were for pork chops, and life was kept simple.
Dennis is survived by his sister, Susan Viser, and her husband, Joe Viser; their children, Victor, Tracy, Jill, and Jerry; his nephews on the side of his eldest brother, Russell Wayne White, who preceded him in death; Russell Wayne’s surviving children, Russell Maurice, Sebastian, and Shea; and his niece, Maria, the daughter of his second eldest sister.
He will be remembered by all who knew him for his gentle spirit, loyalty, wisdom, and the great lesson he left behind: that a simple life, lived with contentment and kindness, is one of life’s greatest gifts.
A private memorial service will be held, with Dennis’ ashes to be scattered in the ocean at Galveston Beach, Surfside Beach, and South Carolina.
