Denise Lynn Stansel, age 58, passed away unexpectedly on October 7, 2016. She was born on January 22, 1958 in Midland, Michigan where she graduated from Bay City Western High School. After graduating high school, Denise moved to Houston, where she met her former husband and had both of her daughters. She was the secretary for a former mayor of Houston, then served as Special Education Administrator for over 15 years for Tomball ISD before returning to school where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Special Education and began teaching for three years in San Antonio.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Emma Tiede, and is survived by her daughters, Jessica Ann Stansel and Rachel Renee Smith and her husband Paul Blake Smith; grandchildren, Leah Renee Smith and Blake Ryan Smith; her brother, John W. Tiede, his wife Sarah and their sons, Michael and Jacob Tiede, all of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and aunts and uncles, Irene Herbert and Meta and Earl.
A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Monday, October 17, 2016 at Tree of Life Lutheran Church, 3201 N Loop 336 W, Conroe, Texas 77304. The family invites anyone who wants to join them to celebrate Denise's life and share stories and loving memories. The celebration will continue over lunch at El Bosque Mexican Restaurant following the memorial service.
