Denise Mitchell

May 21, 1959 — April 1, 2025

Denise Mitchell was born May 21, 1959 in Van Nuys, California, she grew up in Los Angeles’ San Fernando Valley. From there, she lived in Lodi, Houston, TX, Chicago, IL, and Philadelphia, PA metro areas. She went home to be with the Lord on April 1st, 2025. She touched countless lives across the country with lifelong friendships spanning every time zone in the continental United States. Her friends cherished her kind heart, listening ear, selfless nature, and undying loyalty. Throughout her life she exemplified the loving sacrifice that God asks of a mother, and in so many ways the Lord Jesus she followed so closely.

From the very beginning, she put her family before herself. She stayed up long hours working on school projects, soothed the sting of life’s hardships from large to small, and provided decadent and comforting food whenever it was most needed. While she never claimed that her achievements were more than her duty as a mom, her legacy transcends the humble self perception she had.

For her loved ones, she meant more than words can describe, though this may provide a slight glimpse. She is the shade of a tree under the scorching midsummer sun, a cold glass of water after a long hike, a shelter that shields in the midst of a storm, the warmth of a loving hug after a hard day. She always had an encouraging word, and while she couldn’t always fix a problem, she always walked beside those she loved on any difficult journey.

Denise Mitchell nee Keseley, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and cherished friend was born to William Keseley and Lois “Happy” Keseley nee Seymour. She is preceded in death by her aforementioned parents, and beloved sisters Kim and Cindy. She is survived by her husband, Doug; son, Daniel and his wife Natalie; granddaughter, Grace; grandson, Luke; and her son, Dean.

Services for Denise will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Cornerstone Church of Skippack located at 1326 Stump Hall Rd, Skippack, PA 19474 with visitation at 9:30 AM and service to follow at 10:30 AM.
