Debra Kay Muir-Martin passed away peacefully at the age of 60, on August 23, 2017 after a long battle with lung cancer. She was born on October 13, 1956 to Earl and Edith Muir in Frostburg, Maryland and was one of four children. Debra was raised in Collinwood, OH which is outside Cleveland and graduated from Collinwood High School.
She met the love of her life, Anthony, in high school and always loved life to the fullest. One of her favorite hobbies included cooking and never shied away from making unique dishes that everyone always enjoyed. Her best friends describe her as funny, caring, helpful and always there for you. Her sense of humor always lifted your spirits and her smile lit up a room. When things were dramatic she would always say “ain’t my monkeys, ain’t my circus.”
Debra was preceded in death by her husband of 45-years Anthony Martin, her parents Earl Muir and Edith Warnick-Muir and her brother Terry Muir. She is survived by her daughter Tamara Martin-Engel and husband Brian, and grandson Seth Engel along with her sister Kim Muir-Tompkins and husband Gene, and her brother Kevin Muir, nieces Heather Muir and Hailey Muir and nephews Shawn Tompkins and Tyler Tompkins.
The family will be having a memorial service to celebrate Debra’s life at a late date. In lieu of flowers the family ask that memorial donations be made to charity to help find a cure for cancer.
