David Waddell, age 80, passed away unexpectedly on December 22, 2018. He was born on January 10, 1938 in Memphis, Tennessee to Virgie Thomason and Bruce Waddell. David was raised in a suburb outside of Memphis before enlisting into the US Air Force, where he proudly served his country. After his enlistment ended, he attended a truck driving school and began a 40 year career in trucking. A man of faith, he attended various Pentecostal and Baptist churches.
David was preceded in death by his mother, Virgie Thomason, and his brother, Charles Waddell. He is survived by his daughter, Stacy; his son, David Jr.; his former wife, Brenda Jones; grandchildren, Ashley, Carrie and Suzzane; his sisters, Brenda and Vester; brothers, Wayne and Billy; his aunts, Nancy and Diane Keisler; and numerous other relatives and friends too numerous to mention but no less loved.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 15, 2019, at Eickenhorst Funeral Services, 1712 N. Frazier St. #115 Conroe, Texas 77301. A graveside and inurnment service will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday, January 18, 2019, at the Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive Houston, Texas 77038. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for assistance and contributions during this trying time due to the unexpected nature of his passing and the timing with the holidays.
