David Mark Louwerse, age 61, passed away suddenly on January 28, 2018. He was born on November 6, 1956 in Decatur, Illinois, where he was raised and graduated from Eisenhower High School. He received his Bachelor of Arts from Rice University in 1979 while attending on a scholarship for basketball. He was a 4-year starter and long-time record holder. He spent 30+ years in Supply Chain/Procurement, mainly in oil and gas industries and travelled all over the world with work. A man of faith, he was a Baptist deacon.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Rosa Louwerse; father, Abraham Louwerse; mother-in-law, Juanita Baker; and step-mother, Hazel Louwerse. David is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Baker Louwerse; son, John Abraham Louwerse & wife Kelsey; sister, Marsha Hoffman & husband Bill; father-in-law, J D Baker and wife Flaudry; sisters-in-law, Cindy (Rodney) Davis and Charlotte LaVerne; brother-in-law, Tim (Melissa) Baker; nieces and nephews, Michelle (Mark) Benson, Paul (Ashley) Hoffman, Tim (Christine) Hoffman, Emily (Corey) Dowty, Brent (Heather) Davis, Aaron (Abby) Davis, Taliese LaVerne, Daniel LaVerne, Zane (Jenna) Kallus and Brendan Baker; and numerous great nieces & nephews.
Friends are invited to begin gathering at 6 pm on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Crossroads Baptist Church, 5000 College Park Drive, The Woodlands, Texas 77384, where a 7 pm service will be held. Graveside services will be held at 11 am on Friday, February 2, 2018 at the Carmen Nelson Bostick Cemetery, 12317 Holderrieth Road, Tomball, Texas 77375.
