David John Landsman, Sr.

David John Landsman, Sr., passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at his home in Spring, TX. Dave was born on October 3, 1946 in Buffalo, New York where he spent his early life and started his career as a truck driver with his father at Red Star Trucking. He served his country in the United States Navy. He moved to Houston with his family in 1973 and went to work for United Transport, which later became Jack Cooper Transport, retiring after 34 years of service. Dave was a member since 1973 and past union steward of Teamsters Union Local 988. He enjoyed hunting and fishing from an early age and enjoyed sharing these times with his friends and children. He always looked forward to gatherings of his family and friends.Dave was preceded in death by his mother, Freda Lumilla Landsman, and his brother, Lynn Thomas Landsman, and is survived by his wife, Toni Landsman; daughters, Susie Goode and husband Greg of Spring and Dotty Forrey of Knoxville, TN; sons, David John Landsman Jr. and wife Crystal of Knoxville and Jason Landsman; grandchildren, Ranelle, Kristen, Jessica, Ashley, Alyssa, Emily, David John "Trey" Landsman III, Anthony, Jordan, Jacob and Joshua; four great grandchildren, Haley, Katie, Tyler and Braydon; his former wife, Gail Jones; sister-in-law, Stephanie Landsman and her sons, Joshua and Eli; and other relatives and friends to numerous to mention.Friends are invited to visit from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at Eickenhorst Funeral Services, 1712 N.
