David Byron Goodrich, age 63, passed away on September 7, 2022 at his home in Conroe, Texas. He was born on February 17, 1959 and raised in Austin, Texas. He was active in Boy Scouts along with his father and brothers. He attained the rank of Eagle Scout. In high school, David was an avid runner on both the track and cross-country teams. He also played French Horn in the band. David received his Bachelor of Science degree from Baylor in 1981. He then worked in the oil fields. In 1985, he received his license from the Physician Assistant Program at UTHSC-Dallas.
In his professional career, David was a Physician Assistant with the Veteran’s Administration from 1986 until his passing. He was currently an Orthopedic P.A. at the V.A. Community Based Outpatient Clinic in Conroe. His passions were his family including his beloved grand dogs, Bella and Molly; his home and garden; and the training of new Physician Assistants.
David was preceded in death by his father, Ira M. Goodrich; brothers Mike and Jeff; and his son Sam. He is survived by his wife, Susan (Wunschel) Goodrich; daughter, Bethany (Goodrich) Frankenberger and son-in-law, Tyler; mother, Ernestine Goodrich of Austin. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations and contributions be made to the Veteran’s Treatment Court of Montgomery County and Boy Scouts of America in David’s honor.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Sunday, September 18, 2022 at Eickenhorst Funeral Services, 1712 N Frazier St #115, Conroe, TX 77301. Refreshments will be provided.
