David Stephen Eller was born September 10, 1965 in Waco, Texas to Louise and J.N. Eller. He grew up along with his older brother Gary as an ‘Air Force brat’ following his parents around the world: Texas, California, Kansas, the Netherlands, Virginia, and back to Texas where he graduated from Conroe High School in 1983. It was an interesting way to grow up, and David got a kick out of telling people about teenage battles with his brother, his mother’s exasperation with getting him out of bed to go to school, and his dad’s anger over his grades! After graduation, David attempted a variety of trades before he found his niche in long haul trucking, which he excelled at and made his career for many years. He was proud that he drove in each of the lower 48 states as a truck driver, and he frequently sent home pictures of wildlife and amazing sunsets that he encountered on his travels. He married Lisa Spadachene in 1988 and the couple had two children, Andrea and Chase, before divorcing in 2003. David’s life-long joy was fishing, and anyone that knew him longer than 5 minutes likely heard tales from his most recent fishing trip. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in January 2022, and despite the ordeal of chemotherapy and the ravages of the disease he maintained a positive, cheerful outlook on life. And he kept on fishing! The last few years of his life he became much more spiritually focused, and he diligently served the Lord and found a loving family at the Longmire Road Church of Christ in Conroe. He succumbed to cancer on August 29, 2023. He is survived by his father John N. Eller, his brother Gary Eller, and his children Andrea Eller and Chase Eller.
