David Michael Cochran

d. February 11, 2013

David Michael Cochran was born to Dick & Beverly Cochran of Conroe on December 8, 1957 and passed away on February ll, 2013. His father, mother and brother preceded him in death. He graduated from Conroe High School in 1976 and was a member of the Conroe High School "Fightin' Tigers" Varsity football team. He went on to receive a football scholarship from Stephen F. Austin University. Although he did not complete his college career, he was very successful in the mobile home industry. He was a remarkable salesman and for much of his career he worked in sales in Texas, Nevada, Mississippi and N. Carolina. He also had a passion for the culinary arts and because of his love for food and the preparation thereof, he should have had his own "cooking show". He grew his own vegetables and loved to show others how to have a successful garden. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved the whole experience of hunting and fishing (the deer lease, the campfire, the catching & baiting of the fish, shrimping & crabbing, the ocean, the bay, the serenity of the woods, etc.) but most of all he enjoyed a good laugh or joke and the companionship of good friends and family. He was an all around outdoorsman. Although David did not have any children, he embraced all his nieces, nephews and friends' children as if they were his own. He loved them dearly and was interested in every aspect of their lives. David is survived by two sisters and their spouses, Karron & Bill Fowler, Sherre & Ricky Cathey, and numerous nieces & nephews. His extended family was very special to him also. He always felt blessed to have been adopted into their family. He had many special friends that have meant so much to him especially through this last journey of his life. The last three years have been especially difficult for him, but being the Boy Scout he was, he truly earned his badge of courage and his faith in Jesus never waivered. David touched many lives during his short life. He celebrated life to the fullest , he laughed a lot & loved much. He had a generous and tender heart for all, especially those in need. A memorial service will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 19th at the Eickenhorst Funeral Services, 1712 N. Frazier, Suite 115, Conroe. In lieu of flowers please make donations to your favorite charity or church in his memory.
