Darrell Lane Moon

Darrell Lane Moon, 66, of Conroe, Texas, passed away on January 26, 2026, in Conroe.

Darrell was born on March 25, 1959, in Conroe, Texas, to Wayne and Betty Jean Moon. He was raised in the place he would always call home, graduated from Conroe High School, and remained deeply connected to the Conroe community throughout his life.

Darrell spent his career in home building and real estate, where he became known for his knowledge, his steady presence, and the relationships he built along the way. He had a gift for talking with people, earning trust, and helping others navigate big decisions. He also enjoyed many years being part of the Montgomery County Cookoff, a tradition he loved for the camaraderie, the laughter, and the friendships that came with it.

Darrell was known and loved by many for his goofy personality, jokes, and easy spirit demeanor.

Darrell is survived by his wife, Terry Drake Moon; his son, Joseph Drake and his wife, Jenny Drake, and their son, Jackson Drake; his daughter, Amanda Denison and her husband, Lukas Denison, and their daughters, Addison Ann Denison and Emery Grace Denison; brothers, Greg Moon and wife Kathy, Jeff Moon and wife Allison; and his beloved dog, Molly.

Darrell is preceded in death by his parents, Wayne Moon and Betty Jean Moon, and his father-in-law, Clarence Edward Drake.

The Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at West Conroe Baptist Church, 1855 Longmire Rd, Conroe, TX 77304. The visitation will begin at 1:00 PM, with the family available until 1:30 PM. A reception will be announced at the closing.
