Darrell David Boyer

October 29, 1951 — February 9, 2024

In loving memory of Darrell David Boyer, a vibrant soul who departed peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, February 9th, 2024, at the age of 72. Born on October 29th, 1951, in Houston, TX, Darrell's journey was one marked by love, passion, and a deep commitment to family and faith.

Darrell's roots were firmly planted in Oakridge, where his childhood home now stands as the Oakridge Baptist Church. He embarked on his academic and athletic journey at Conroe High School, leaving an indelible mark on the football field. His competitive spirit and athletic prowess continued at Sam Houston State University, where he proudly earned his Bachelor's degree in Finance as a Bearkat.

Settling in The Woodlands area after college, Darrell dedicated almost his entire life to the community he cherished. A sports enthusiast, he excelled in football, waterskiing, basketball, and his beloved tennis, boasting a serve that would challenge the greatest tennis legends. Beyond his personal pursuits, Darrell found joy in coaching his son's baseball teams and creating countless memories playing ball with them. He also loved biking through The Woodlands racing his boys with his daughter on the back of his bike all the while. His love for fishing and camping provided solace and adventure in the years following his 30-year career in car sales, where he flourished because of his charisma and love of striking up a conversation with anybody.

Darrell's unwavering faith in Jesus Christ served as the cornerstone of his life. A devoted member of The Woodlands Methodist Church, he attended services with his beloved wife, Leslie, and their family. His commitment to Christ laid the foundation for the strong values and deep spirituality evident in his children and grandchildren.

Darrell is preceded in death by his loving parents, Barbara Boyer and Gerald Boyer.

He leaves behind a legacy of love and family. Darrell’s enduring devotion to his wife of 31 years, Leslie Townsend-Boyer, is a testament to the strength of their bond. Darrell's pride and joy extended to the blended family he and Leslie brought together. Jacob Boyer and his wife Cecily, and their two children, Kennedy and Andrew; Caleb Boyer and his wife Jessica, and children Austin and Parker; Miriam Boyer and her son Jackson; Elizabeth Henderson and her husband James, and children Emma, Brendan, Hanna, Olivia, and Ava; Peter Herrera and his wife Lindsay, and children Maggie, Mallory, Peter David, and Mason. Brian Herrera and his wife Katie, and children Mia, Allie, Dylan, and Tessa; Chris Herrera and his wife Katie, and children Ella and Annalee. Darrell is also survived by his sisters, Kendall Boyer, Sherri Conley and husband Sean Conley, and Candice Boyer-Walzel, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In celebrating Darrell's life, we remember a man who not only embraced competition and adventure but also instilled the values of love, faith, and family in the hearts of all who knew him. His memory will forever be a source of inspiration and warmth for those whose lives he touched. May we rejoice in the fact that he continues his spiritual journey with his heavenly father Jesus Christ, leaving a legacy that continues to resonate in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
