Crystal Summer Deslauriers

Crystal Summer Deslauriers was called home by a garrison of angels, they took Crystal’s hand on January 25, 2017 at the age of 67 to touch the face of God. She was born on December 27, 1949 to Herold Gretsinger and Sherlene Carter in Long Beach, California. Crystal grew up and eventually graduated high school in Long beach, CA.

Crystal was very proud of her Military Career where she rose to the rank of Staff Sargent over her 11 years of active duty and is a Vietnam Era Veteran. Along with her career as a non-commissioned officer, she worked in retail sales. Crystal loved to cook for people and was good at it. She was a fabulous hostess and a fun loving and caring person to all. She had a love for all animals, loved to read books and was well read. She was well traveled and had friends all over the world. Crystal was a devoted wife, mother and sister and we loved spending time with her. Crystal loved her life and often said she has no regrets, except for the sadness of others whom she leaves behind.

Crystal is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 41 years Robert Leo Deslauriers, her daughter Danielle Verno, sisters Sherry Vina, Fran Cazier and Robyn Bloomquist, a brother Robert Bloomquist, granddaughters Kasie, Brittini, Jaxxon and Breal and a grandson Hayden Boone.

The family will be having a memorial service at their church to celebrate the life of Crystal at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations in Crystal’s name be made to any veteran’s organizations or charity of your choice.
