Craig Welch

Craig Welch, age 57, died unexpectedly on January 2, 2014. He was born on July 11, 1956 in Kalamazoo, MI, where he was raised until he received his Bachelor's Degree in business from Western Michigan University. After graduating, he moved to Phoenix, AZ, and accepted his first job at the K-Mart Corporation. Craig's early career was spent in the retail industry as a successful manager at K-Mart, Best Buy and Pea Pod. During the last decade, he was a new home sales counselor and most recently a top sales representative at DR Horton. He was active with the Greater Houston Builders Association. Craig loved dogs and supported the SPCA. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Dorothy Blakely and Kenneth R. Welch, and his brother, Kenneth R. Welch, Jr. He is survived by his sister, Karolyn R. Cross; best friends, Robert Hernandez, Troy Comfort, Scott Happel and William Thweatt; nieces, Kelly Fischer and Micki Welch; and nephew, Steven Welch. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Craig's name to the Houston SPCA.
