With profound sadness, we share the passing of Cody Grant Bingham on September 4, 2025, at the age of 43.
Cody was many things — creative, adventurous, guided by faith and deeply connected to the outdoors — but at the center of it all was his role as a father to his beloved son, Ellis, which he cherished most. Ellis was his light, his greatest treasure, and his proudest accomplishment in this life. Cody poured his heart into fatherhood, wanting to give Ellis every experience he could — through music, long talks, road trips, and countless adventures together. The bond they shared was unshakable, and his love for Ellis defined him more than anything else ever could.
A strong man of Christ, Cody lived authentically and fully. He worked as a landman in the oil and gas industry, a role that reflected his deep connection to wide open spaces. He thrived in the art of negotiation — charismatic, charming, and full of stories that could light up a room. Cody was a big talker, but also deeply passionate and convicted, always standing firm in what he believed. His work wasn’t just a career; it suited the very core of who he was, someone who loved people, loved the land, and knew how to bridge both.
Cody was a true explorer. He was a musician, a hunter, and an avid fisherman. Music was woven into him like a second language — lyrics, guitar strings, and melodies that carried the stories of his soul. He loved archeology and Native American culture, collecting arrowheads and restoring vintage axes. He chose the outdoors as his refuge often. Always curious, always searching, Cody carried within him a spirit of wonder and discovery that shaped every part of his life.
He is preceded in passing by his grandmother, Oltheda Breedlove; his grandfather, Billy Joe Poarch; his grandfather, Kenneth Grant Bingham; and his brother, Brody Lane Bingham.
He is survived by his son, Ellis Grant Bingham; his nephew, Marco Grant Bingham; his sister, Brooke Bingham; his mother, Terry Poarch; his father, Kenneth Wayne Bingham; along with countless cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends who will carry his memory forward.
Fly high, Cody. You will be missed beyond measure.
