Charles Dillard Toney III, age 76, passed away in his home on September 22, 2018 in The Woodlands, Texas. He was born on January 4, 1942 in Atlanta, Georgia and as a child he attended Capitol View Baptist Church. He graduated from Sylvan Hills High School where he was involved in chess club, choir, track, Junior and National Honor Society, Beta Club, and football. He was also a Boy Scout. Later, he graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology and Emory University with an MBA in marketing.
In his professional career, he worked for Pratt & Whitney designing jet engines in Florida. He then moved to Dallas, Texas, working for Fleetguard Filter division of Cummins Engine Company, eventually becoming International Marketing Manager. In his spare time, Charles enjoyed helping charitable organizations and was active in several local churches.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Jr. and Annie Toney. He is survived by his siblings, Philip Marvin Toney of Brighton, Michigan, and Nancy Toney Upshaw of Strasburg, VA; niece and nephew, Melissa Toney Love of Livonia, Mississippi, and Craig Philip Toney of Crestview, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that charitable donations be made to the Salvation Army and any shelters for the homeless.
