Charles Nicholas Butler

August 7, 1943 — June 9, 2023

Charles Nicholas Butler passed away at home in Conroe, Texas, on June 9, 2023, at the age of 79, after a long illness. He leaves a loving wife, Joan Blevins Butler, and three sisters: Clara Rueter of Brenham, Regina Newman, and Paula Aynesworth of Dallas. He also leaves five nieces and nephews, all in Texas: David Presswood of Brenham, Jennifer Vinklarek and Adrienne Newman of Austin, Stephanie Clemons of Dallas, and Ryan Newman of Rowlett. Charles was the eldest of his siblings, and he took care of the family for many years after the passing of his father, who was injured while volunteering in the Texas City disaster of 1947.

Charles attended Annunciation Catholic School in Houston as a student of Sister Mary Brendan O'Donnell and graduated from Conroe High School. He then studied at the University of Houston. Charles retired from Tenneco after twenty-seven years, as Engineering Systems Manager, and was a long-time member of the Knights of Columbus. Memorial service arrangements are to be determined.

Charles was an intelligent man, with a dry sense of humor and a quick wit, who felt a sense of duty and love for his family. His wife and family will miss him very much.
