September 6, 1944 — October 26, 2012

Carol Jones Couvillion, 68, of Conroe returned to be with our Lord on Friday, October 26, 2012. Born on September 6, 1944, Ms. Couvillion is survived by a son, Lee Couvillion, and 2 granddaughters ages 3 and 5. Carol was truly a shining star in all communities across Montgomery County. For over 14 years. Ms. Couvillion served as a Personal Advocate Volunteer (PAV) for the Montgomery County Women's Center. Advocating sexual assault victims with the strictest dedication and the selflessness of a true community hero earned Ms. Couvillion an award and title of "Program Volunteer of the Year" from the Texas Association Against Sexual Assault (TAASA) in 2007. Being active in her community and helping others was her favorite thing to do. Volunteering with her local Home Owner's Association many years from the 70's forward became her full time job as Office Manager. For 9 years, she humbly helped her local friends and neighbors and enjoyed making a difference no matter how small it might be. Ms. Couvillion's primary passion and love was God, Country, Freedom, Genealogy and Historical data research. It most likely cannot be counted how many people she has helped verify their family history to the Civil War and even further back to generations before the American Revolution. In 1971, she joined The Margaret Montgomery Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution acting as Regent (President) 1979 to 1981.For 26 years, Ms. Couvillion maintained many supporting roles as a member of the Thomas Jefferson Stubbs 2523, Conroe, United Daughters of the Confederacy. She was also a member of the Judge Nathaniel Hart Davis Chapter of Montgomery, Daughters of the Republic of Texas, The Woodlands Rose, Texas Society, Order of Confederate Rose.
