Bill Tervay, age 66, passed away after a brief bout with illness on Saturday, November 5, 2011. In his words, he was able to spend 42 years with the love of his life, Linda; had two wonderful children, Will (and his wife Christina and son Ryan) and Devon, and two beautiful granddaughters, Piper and Peyton. After attending Cal Poly University at San Luis Obispo, Bill served in Vietnam as an Army aviator. He flew both fixed wing and rotary aircraft. Although a salesman in the oil and gas industry for most of his adult life, Bill enjoyed building things with his hands, both carpentry and mechanical. He made many lifelong friends while rebuilding car engines and driving trucks commercially. Bill greatly enjoyed cooking and held Paul Prudhomme, Justin Wilson, and Emeril Lagasse in high culinary esteem. He was frying turkeys before it was cool and was known by friends and family for both his indoor and outdoor cooking skills. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Smith Lemli Opitz Foundation in honor of his granddaughter.
