Amy Lynn Ward

June 5, 1975 — April 23, 2026

Montgomery

Amy Lynn Ward, 50, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2026, in Montgomery Texas, surrounded by the solace of her husband, daughters, and adopted son. She was born on June 5, 1975, in Fremont, Nebraska, the daughter of Terry Beed and the late Janelle (Kruger) Beed.

Amy spent her early years growing up in Fremont, Nebraska before relocating with her mother to Arlington, Nebraska where they lived on a farm with her stepfather, John Kruger and step siblings. She graduated from Logan View High School in 1993 and then she went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree from Grand Valley State University in 1998.

She dedicated her career to healthcare as a recreational therapist, devoting her time to supporting individuals with special and advanced needs. Through compassionate care and therapeutic activities she promoted meaningful engagement helping individuals find connection, confidence, and a greater sense of independence. She brought joy, patience and kindness into the lives of those she cared for, touching countless hearts.

Amy deeply cherished the trips she took with her family, finding comfort in togetherness while making memories that expanded through state lines and across many shores. She had an eye for creative beauty in everyday life. Amy loved to frequent garage sales, thrift stores, and boutiques finding joy in collecting items that she proudly incorporated into the intimate details of her home. In addition, she was a loyal fan of the Nebraska Cornhuskers taking pride and finding true enthusiasm in supporting their efforts each season.

Her confidence in herself made her feel as though she could hold the weight of the world in her hands. Her physical disabilities were never a limitation but instead a reflection of her boundless strength and fortitude. She was easily made to laugh by the humor of those who surrounded her, her laugh often infecting everyone around her so instantaneously and deeply making it impossible for others to not join in. She will be remembered by the sparkle in her blue eyes that seemed to dance with every laugh, two big blue windows that reflected her genuine beauty.

Amy leaves behind her loving husband of 23 years, Michael Dean Ward; daughters Amber Lynn Ward and Hannah Michelle Ward; stepchildren, Kaila Marie Ward and Michael Dean Ward Jr.; adopted son Trenton Devon Deshazier; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and her father.

In addition to her mother Janelle Kruger, she is preceded in death by her stepbrother James (Jim) Kruger, and nephew Daniel Kruger as well as grandparents.
