Alvie Leon King, age 82, went to be with Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior on July 28,
2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on October 10, 1942, in
Joaquin, Texas. He spent much of his childhood in Kentucky where he acquired a
great love for the outdoors and fishing.
After moving back to Texas and graduating from high school, Alvie completed a five-
year apprenticeship with the Plumbers Local Union #68 in Houston, Texas. A master
plumber by trade, he owned and operated his own plumbing business for 17 years.
Alvie was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He
married his high school sweetheart, Sharron, and they shared 66 beautiful years of
marriage. He loved her with his whole heart until his last day.
He was a man of humility and quiet strength. Known for his iconic laugh, his love of
fishing and singing, and his unwavering commitment to his family, Alvie was truly
the rock of those who knew and loved him. He led with grace and lived as a biblical
example of love and devotion.
Alvie is preceded in death by his beloved son, Paul Allan King; his mother, Eunice
James; stepfather, Lucas James; sisters, Betty Morris and Sarah Reagan; and brother,
Kenneth James, and grandson Paul Allan King, Jr.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sharron King; his daughter, Melody Allen (John);
and his brother, Nelson James (Roz). He was a proud grandfather to Krystal Malone
(Marcus), Julia Buxton, (Jared), Michael Allen (Melissa), Andrew Allen, Stephen
Allen, and Elisabeth Allen. He also had eight great grandchildren with many other
nieces, nephews, members and friends who will miss him deeply.

hearts of all who knew him. He was, and always will be, the rock of his family.
