Abril Rebeca Aariza González, 17, passed away on Friday, August 16th, 2024, in her home in The Woodlands, Texas.
Abril was born in Monterrey Nuevo León Mèxico on February 18th 2007, to Laura Ericka Gonzalez Reyna and Jose Alvaro Araiza Alvaradejo. Always a creative soul, Abril gravitated toward crafts, science kits, cross-stitch, jewelry making and painting as a child. Her love for creation and art continued to grow as she was finishing up her education at The Woodlands High School. There, Abril found her calling in the school’s cosmetology program, where she was training to do nails professionally, and excelled. Friends and family fondly recall how she was the first to do their makeup and was always willing to accompany them to a nail appointment.
She was always called to serve others, working at various establishments, such as Visible Changes, Papasitos, and Billi’s, as a host and front desk agent. Coworkers reflect on the glow she had every time she walked into the salon, remarking how her humorous nature and ability to make a joke in any situation made everything about their days more fun.
No singular word can summarize who Abril was. She was a light, hilarious, sassy, hardworking, and honest. Her energetic soul and care for her friends is, and will continue to be, impossible to recreate or fake. A lover of pink, girly girl, and caring individual, friends will forever recall her love of Hello Kitty, how she was a sore loser at the game clue, and her ability to make every single person she met feel less alone. Abril’s love language was gift giving and that was apparent in everything she did. Loved ones remark on how they were “all extremely fortunate to have spent special moments with Abril”, and know she will continue to be beside each and every person who she loved.
Abril is survived by her mother Laura Ericka Gonzalez Reyna, father Jose Alvaro Araiza Alvaradejo, older brother Alvaro Eduardo Araiza Gonzalez, younger sisters Emma Victoria Paez and Eva Monserrat Paez, and countless friends whose lives she touched.
