    Pyatt Henry Cook

    December 15, 1934 - May 11, 2022

Surrounded by his wife Jackie, son Ronald, and daughter Connie, Pyatt Henry (P.H.) Cook, 87, left on his long-awaited trip to the heavens on May 11, 2022. Born on December 15,1934, in Henryetta, Oklahoma, P.H. grew up as a son of a Pentecostal preacher, with four other siblings. The war in Korea drew him into the Air Force, and while journeying to his next duty station, P.H. met, dated, then married his lifelong sweetheart, Jacklyn (Remy) Cook. Their romance has remained strong since that blessed day on July 14,1955. During the next 20 years, “Leaving on a Jet Plane,” became the family theme song. After MSGT Cook retired from the Air Force, P.H. entered the FAA, serving for another 20 years, and with Jacklyn by his side, continued the saga of traversing the globe. His real passion though, was realized after retirement, when P.H. became a Baptist minister, following in the footsteps of his father; humbly serving others, while modeling the principles set forth by Jesus Christ. Despite starting small, ‘Papa’ Cook’s family currently includes 10 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren, with more on the way. The entire clan is grieving the loss of its Patriarch. Graveside and burial with full military honors rendered will be at 9:30 AM on Monday, May 23, 2022 in Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038. We will be lining up in Lane 1 in front of the main office building. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations and contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to a charity of your choice.
