Mary Janice Kutch
June 4, 1943 - March 20, 2019
Mary Janice Kutch, 75, passed away peacefully at her home in Montgomery, Texas, on March 20, 2019. She bravely battled cancer for 8 years. Mary was born on June 4, 1943, in Creston, Iowa, where she was the only child of Robert Lee Haney and Gladys Opal Merritt Haney. She was fortunate to grow up with a large, close-knit extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins. After high school, Mary settled in Southern California to raise her family. With a strong work ethic, along with plenty of drive and determination, Mary worked days and went to school nights to launch what became an incredibly successful real estate career. She loved to travel the country with Stan and her dogs by her side, and made many fond memories living in Irvine, Lake Tahoe, Palm Springs and Lake Arrowhead. In 2016, Mary and Stan made the move to Texas, where they settled happily in Montgomery. Mary is survived by her doting husband of nearly 40 years, Stan Kutch; her loving children, Kurt (Anne) Anderson and Kelli (Marty) Vasquez; and four grandchildren, Kyle Anderson, Katy Vasquez, Ryan Vasquez and Alex Vasquez. She was lovingly known as “Gaga” by all of her grandchildren. At Mary’s request, there will be no funeral service. She is being cremated and her ashes will be privately scattered in one of her favorite places. Mary was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her.
