    John Douglas "JD" Hood

    September 10, 1991 - November 23, 2021

John Douglas “JD” Hood, age 30, was born in Houston, Texas on September 10, 1991. He passed away unexpectedly on November 23, 2021 at his home in Kingwood, Texas. He is survived by his parents Thomas Hood (stepmom Sheila) and Bonnie Hood; his sisters Shyanne (Jake) and Elysia (Dan); his grandmother Sue; his Aunt Robin, Aunt Becky (husband Jud), Uncle Art, and Uncle Richard; his cousins Jared, Josh (wife Kelly Ann), and Logan; dog Oliver; and other loving relatives. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Richard, Thomas Waymon, and Jo Iva; Uncle Tim, and Cousin Myles. He was also preceded in death by the two individuals he was named after Douglas Raymond Hood and John Hood. He attended both Atascocita High School and Kingwood Park High School. Following high school, JD found his calling as a flight attendant where he worked for ExpressJet Airlines. JD was a passionate soul and had many interests and hobbies, including travel, fitness, gaming, fashion, and like most millennials, binge-watching TV shows such as The Office and Mr. Robot. He was an advanced scuba diver, a hobby he was able to share with his sisters and father. JD had a gift of being able to engage others and hold conversations on a wide array of subjects and across all age groups. He was just as comfortable with his Aunts and Uncles as he was with his own age. JD was also an avid sports fan and loved the Houston Astros, Toronto Maple Leaf’s, and most of all, the Oregon Ducks. There was one thing, however, JD loved more than the Oregon Ducks and that was his family. He understood the importance of family more than most and was forever grateful to have them in his life. He loved visiting and spending time with his sisters and mother who live in Canada, and his father was his best friend. JD also enjoyed helping family, at home he took great pleasure in helping his dad remodel the guest bathroom and put in a tile floor for the living room. He got into the task and took pride in how well both projects turned out. He also gave up some free time to help his aunt Robin on projects when she needed an extra pair of hands. If there was a family event, especially one with food, you can guarantee that he’s going to be there... Because family wasn’t just a part of his life, family was everything God Bless and may God Speed! A memorial service will be at 10:30 am on Friday, December 3, 2021 at Mims Baptist Church, 1609 Porter Rd, Conroe Texas. In lieu of flowers with JD’s love of animals, please donate to a pet adoption organization.
