Garrett Hunter Spry, age 16, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 26, 2022. He was born on December 15, 2005 in Lake Jackson, Texas, where he grew up until the age of 13. He then attended Dayton schools in the 8th grade and moved to Willis High School for his freshman and sophomore years. Garrett enjoyed playing video games and played baseball since the age of 3. He was a member of many select baseball teams and Brazoswood and Brazoria Little League. He was also active in the youth ministry at The Ark Church in Conroe and FBC Brazoria. Garrett loved life to the fullest every day. Everyone around him loved him. His heart was very kind and his smile uplifted the mood in the classroom, even on Mondays. It was said that even on his worst days “he was the light that could light up a room.” He was preceded in death by his grandmother, LeWinna Ann Taylor; great grandmother, Patricia Ann Edgar; and great grandfathers, Simon Phillip Baldwin, W.T. Edgar and Merle Spry. He is survived by his mother, Kellie Walker and husband James; father, Joshua Spry; sisters, Katherine Brooke Spry, Alyssa Reine Spry, Megan Elizabeth Carr, Marissa Nicole Spry, Amy Nicole Walker, Kayla Lynn Walker and Faith Addison Walker; niece, Gabriella Nicole Spry; nephew, Kaiden Taylor Caruthers; great grandparents, Nellie Ruth and Phil Brown and Letha Spry; grandparents, Drue Taylor, Phillip and Anita Baldwin, Anthony Spry and wife Janet, Theresa Ward and husband Tommy and Jon and Judy Walker; and numerous aunts, uncles and other relatives. A celebration of Garrett’s life will be held at 11 am on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at Silver Springs Baptist Church, 29820 Dobbin-Huffsmith Road, Magnolia, Texas 77354.
