David Emerson Willcox

David Emerson Willcox, age 76, passed away on October 19, 2020 at his home in The Woodlands, Texas. He was born on December 4, 1943 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. David grew up in West Chester, PA for the majority of his life. He graduated from West Chester High School in 1962. He received a scholarship to play tennis at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia. While at Mercer, he was an active member on the tennis team and was a member of Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He received a BA in Philosophy at Mercer University in 1966. After graduation, he decided to pursue his studies more at University of Texas at Austin. While there he was awarded a Fulbright scholarship to University of Erlangen in West Germany. He studied abroad for a year. He returned to UT to finish his studies where he was awarded a Doctorate in Philosophy in 1971. After receiving his doctorate, he held jobs in Oklahoma, Indiana, Illinois and Texas throughout his years. He spent the majority of his later years teaching at Montgomery College as an adjunct professor. He was a very devoted father to his daughter Danielle. He is survived by his daughter Danielle Willcox and former wife Gloria Willcox of Conroe Texas He is preceded in death by his mother Verna Mulholland and father Emerson Willcox. He was not affiliated with any religious organization and no charities for contributions.
